Cimarron Bend Wind Farm
Cimarron Bend Operations and Maintenance Building is a design/build project for the operations and maintenance of more than 200 wind turbines on 40,000 acres operating 1.1 GW. Ross & Associates ended up winning the gold award project of distinction from ABC Wisconsin for this project. The building has a large shop/warehouse to facilitate vehicles, machinery, and wind turbines and offices for up to 15 staff. It has a concrete block notification system and restroom. Being 800 miles from home base and two weeks from contract signing to project start, quick mobilization and attention to detail were required for on time groundbreaking. Other challenges included many change orders by the client and a high number of subcontractors on site at one time.
